Pre-Treatment

How to prep for your microneedling appointment:

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure
  • Must not have taken Accutane in the last 12 months
  • Avoid topical agents that could increase sensitivity (such as retinoids, topical antibiotics, acids that may be drying or irritating, AHAs and BHAs, and acne products)
  • Do not take Advil, Motrin or Ibuprofen day of your appointment
  • Do not wax or shave the skin 5 days before treatment
  • If you are prone to cold sores, it is recommended that you take an antiviral agent 2 to 3 days prior to your treatment, to prevent an outbreak

On the day of treatment, come with clean skin free of lotions, oil, makeup, perfume, and sunscreen.  A topical anesthetic containing lidocaine will be applied to the skin prior to the procedure.  Please inform the esthetician of any recent treatments to the skin.
